This tree is on the west side of the brook, between the foot bridge and Roath Park House.
General tree description
Styphnolobium japonicum grows to 15 to 25 metres tall and has a rounded habit. Its leaves are pinnate, 15 to 25 cm long, and comprise 9 to 15 ovate to oval leaflets, which are 3 to 5 cm long. The flowers are creamy white, about 1 cm long and produced in clusters at the ends of branches. They appear in the late summer and autumn.
