General tree description

Pterostyrax corymbosa is a fast growing deciduous tree which can reach a height of about 12 metres. In early summer it produces small, bell-shaped, fragrant, white flowers with conspicuous stamens. These flowers are hermaphrodite. In summer the leaves are rich green, broadly elliptic or obovate, partly glossy, with conspicuous veins. In autumn they turn yellow. The fruit is an oblong dry drupe (fruit-stone).
