General tree description
Osmanthus x burkwoodii is a hybrid of the Chinese Osmanthus delavayi and the Turkish/Georgian Osmanthus decorus. It is a large evergreen shrub, with a dense and rounded habit, typically growing to about 3 metres. It has oval leaves, 2.5 to 5cm in length, dark green, leathery and toothed. In spring it has clusters of small, fragrant white flowers, sometimes followed by a few black fruits.
