General tree description

Fraxinus excelsior Diversifolia Group is a cultivar of the Common ash, Fraxinus excelsior, with variable foliage - the compound pinnate leaves are reduced to a single large undivided leaf, or occasionally a three-part leaf. It is a large tree, up to 20 metres tall, with an upright, pyramidal crown. The bark is grey-brown and has shallow furrows. The leaves are ovate to elliptical with jagged teeth, dark green and 8 to 12cm long.
