This tree is in the lower park, just west of the main path.
General tree description
Tsuga diversifolia is small to medium sized tree (up to 24 metres tall) with a dense conical crown and orange-brown bark, shallowly fissured and vertically peeling. It has glossy, dark green leaves, 5 to 15mm long and up to 2.4 mm wide, oblong and neatly parallel, with two white lines on the underside. The cones are dark brown, pendulous and ovoid, around 2cm long.
