This tree is towards the top of the lower park on the west side. It is approximately 50M north of the pool in the lower park.
General tree description
Pinus x holfordiana is a hybrid of the Mexican white pine (Pinus ayacahuite) and the Bhutan pine (Pinus wallichiana). It is a large tree with a conic shape and orange-purple scaly bark. Its leaves are needles in bundles of five, silvery green, long, slender and drooping, 14 to 18cm long. The cones are also long - up to 30cm - banana shaped, pale brown, leathery and pendulous.
