General tree description
Amelanchier 'Ballerina' is a small, upright tree with a broad crown. Its leaves are 5 to 7.5cm long, ovate and finely toothed, coppery-bronze when young, fading to green before turning brilliant shades of orange, purple and red in the autumn. Large, white, star-shaped flowers, about 2.5cm wide, appear in April. They are followed later by edible berries, red ripening to purple-black.
