This tree is on the north east edge of Coopers Field, beside the canal. Lack of maintenance has allowed the tree to sucker over a length of about 55M along the canal bank.

General tree description

In its native habitat this tree reaches heights of 25 to 30 metres. It has a rounded form with widely spreading branches, pinnate leaves 20 to 40cm long and green catkins produced in June/July. The fruits are nuts with semi circular wings 2cm across in total and borne on long chains.
