General tree description

Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' is a small bushy tree with smooth grey bark. Its leaves are broad and rounded, with 7 to 11 deeply cut lobes. Drooping clusters of red flowers with yellow anthers appear in spring with the bright green young leaves. The leaves turn a rich crimson colour in autumn.
